Qigong in the Park

on hold…. stay tuned….

What is Qigong?

With movement, breath, massage, and intention, Qigong teaches us that where the mind goes, energy flows. Qigong is a mindful way of moving and directing energy in the body. It is considered an ancient Chinese medicine, much like acupuncture and acupressure. Some say it looks a little like Tai Chi, but Qigong is a bit more groovy and less structured.

Qigong can be practiced anywhere, wearing anything. We will practice standing, but I'll bring a few chairs if rest is calling. Our practice will start slow and mindful, but we can generate a little heat if it’s cold out.… Each practice will be adapted to the conditions so that everyone can practice with ease and comfort.

Classes are $10 each, or 5 classes for $40.

Yoga and Qigong

When the time is right, we’ll meet again.

A combination of gentle yoga and Qigong. This class is designed to relax the mind and rejuvenate the body. Through breath, mindfulness, and movement, we explore new ways to feel good.

Bringing Yoga and Qigong together.

Yoga and Qigong are fabulous compliments for each other. Yoga inspired movements help us build strong foundations, increase flexibility, and focus the mind. Qigong helps us to connect to our inner strength and balance, and tap into our own life force energy. Through a combined effort of intention and awareness, these classes are designed to increase wellness and improve both physical and emotional strength.

I’m familiar with yoga, but what is Qigong?

Like acupuncture, Qigong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine that focuses on the flow of energy. Qigong can be described as a mind-body-spirit practice that improves mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breath, and focused intent. It taps into the idea that our bodies hold innate healing wisdom, and we ourselves are our own best healers.

Meet Sue

I am inspired by mountains and love, water and warmth, and the simple feeling of wind on my face. While my home is Oakridge, Oregon… my soul finds home in many places… sometimes a mountain pass or a river valley, sometimes sharing a view with a good friend. I have taught yoga and qigong in Oregon, the Tahoe/Truckee region, Southern Baja, and also online.

I first found yoga as a remedy for life’s aches and pains, and then I became inspired by the calmness and growth I feel with each class.  When I found Qigong, or rather when Qigong found me, I was amazed how easy it is to feel good!

I strive to make my classes fun and accessible to everyone, tuning each class to meet the needs and level of my students. You might find a little qigong in each of my yoga classes, and a little yoga in each qigong class.
